I have been listening to the BEMA Discipleship podcast which is an extreme deep dive into the Bible from an Eastern perspective...and boy, much of what you say hits western vs. eastern thinking on the head.
Similar to what you said about the story of God's love, the BEMA podcast gives a backdrop of the idea that God loved His creation...it was GOOD. We have to trust the story that we are enough.
Great question...Eastern Orthodox, i.e. the context and perspective of the time it was written.
So, really looking at it from the lens of how Jewish, Gentiles, Romans, Greeks, etc would have interpreted the writing in relation to their context in their life at that moment.
It's challenging because many of us look at the writing with hindsight of 20/20 and knowing how things have played out, so we don't necessarily understand and / or appreciate the way it was written and how it would have been received at the time.
Amen Douglas!

What is the Bible from an Eastern perspective, Jordan? Like Eastern Orthodox, or East Asian?
